Completion of work on the Dubai Creek Tower in Dubai

In Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Soletanche Bachy has completed deep foundation work on the Dubai Creek Tower, the future iconic observation tower designed by architect Santiago Calatrava as the centrepiece of the Dubai Creek Harbour development.

The Group thus played a key role in the development of an urban zone destined become the new nerve-centre of Dubai.

The contract was awarded to Soletanche Bachy in June 2016 by the global property giant Emaar Properties, one of the pioneers of premium integrated communities in the emirate, and work on construction of the foundations for the tower – destined to be the tallest in the world – began in October 2016.

More than 600 personnel worked at a sustained pace to complete the 473 barrettes which make up the foundation system and the anchoring points for the tower’s stays.

Rising to the technical challenges inherent in this ambitious engineering feat during the design and construction phases of the barrettes, the teams set a new load test world record, applying a combined load of 36,300 tonnes to a barrette during preliminary calculation tests.
