Soletanche Bachy in Vienna for the ICSMGE 2026 conference
From June 14 to 18, the Austrian capital hosted ICSMGE, the International Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering. Held every four years, this major event is a key milestone in the global geotechnical calendar, bringing together researchers, engineers and companies to share the latest scientific and technical advances.
Soil behavior, foundations, geotechnical structures, natural hazards, adaptation to climate change: the week provided an opportunity for in-depth exchanges between academic research and field practice, in a format that traditionally gathers several thousand participants from around the world.
Soletanche Bachy shared a booth with Geoquest and Menard, designed as a joint showcase highlighting the complementarity of geotechnical expertise within Soletanche Freyssinet.
Paul Vidil, Deputy Director of the Eurofrance design office, delivered a plenary presentation on the key role of geotechnical stakeholders in supporting sustainability.
Several of our subsidiaries also attended to represent Soletanche Bachy: Zetas, HBM, Soletanche Polska, Soletanche Bachy International, SBR and Soletanche Bachy France were all present on site — a strong mobilization illustrating the international footprint of our expertise in foundations and underground construction.
