A 100% Electric Construction Site: Soletanche Bachy France Works on the Redevelopment of a Building in Paris
As part of the restructuring of an office building on Rue Condorcet (Paris 9th arrondissement), Soletanche Bachy France carried out ground treatment to address gypsum dissolution phenomena.

A Complex Project in a Constrained Urban Environment
Located in the heart of Paris, this project—led by Soletanche Bachy France and NEOM (lead contractor) on behalf of Société Foncière Lyonnaise—is part of an ambitious urban redevelopment program to convert the site into residential apartments. The goal: reintegrate this historic site into the local community by opening it up to residents.
Working indoors, within existing buildings and in a densely built urban area, required innovative technical solutions. From the preparatory phase, what was initially considered a possibility—a 100% electric approach—was implemented thanks to the initiative of our teams.
A dedicated electrical installation was set up to simultaneously power:
- During the first production phase:
• Two C8 XP2 drilling rigs
• One MC4D drilling rig
• One MC6 drilling rig
- During the second production phase:
• Two MC3D drilling rigs
• One MC6 drilling rig
• One Moritz 3000 injection plant
A Unique Excavator in France!
Another standout feature: the use of a 15-ton electric loader-excavator—the only one of its kind currently operating in France.
Collaboration with NEOM, a specialist in site clearing, also allowed for shared waste management and significantly reduced the site’s carbon footprint.
Technical Results Delivered
Despite the site’s constraints, the teams delivered an outstanding performance:
- 403 boreholes drilled to a depth of 37 meters
- 6,000 m³ of grout injected for backfilling
