Rogue\u2019s Wind: Nicholson successfully completes micropile foundations for 8 wind turbines<\/h1><\/div>

Nicholson Construction has completed the design and installation of micropile foundations for eight wind turbine sites at the CPV Rogue\u2019s Wind project in Patton, Pennsylvania (USA).<\/p>\n<\/div>

Due to the presence of thick and highly variable mine spoil deposits, micropiles were selected as the most appropriate deep foundation solution. A specialty of Nicholson<\/a>, micropile<\/a> technology offers reliability and adaptability in complex ground conditions.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Each of the eight turbines are supported by 60 micropiles, arranged in two concentric rings of 30, spread over a 66-foot (20-meter) diameter foundation \u2014 for a total of 480 micropiles on the project.<\/p>\n

All piles are 9-5\/8 inches in diameter, with two design types tailored to site-specific subsurface conditions:<\/p>\n
