The Toulouse metro has reached a decisive milestone with another success on section 4 of Line C: the tunnel boring machine Marguerite de Catellan<\/em> has broken through at the Limayrac \u2013 Cit\u00e9 de l\u2019Espace station. This project is led by the Horizon consortium (Bouygues Travaux Publics, Bouygues Travaux Publics R\u00e9gions France, Sol\u00e9tanche Bachy France, and Bessac).<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>

A Technical Feat Applauded On Site<\/h2><\/div>

The successful breakthrough at the Limayrac \u2013 Cit\u00e9 de l\u2019Espace station adds to a series of key milestones: after passing through the Ormeau station last October, followed by the installation of the 1,000th ring segment in March, this marks another victory for the dedicated teams.
\nLocal officials, nearby residents, and project professionals were present to witness the breakthrough live, emphasizing the significance of this moment for both the community and project stakeholders.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Target: 2025 \u2013 4.2 km of Tunnel<\/h2><\/div>

The next stop will be C\u00f4te Pav\u00e9e station, before the final arrival at the Saint-Sauveur shaft, scheduled for November 2025. This will mark the completion of the 4.2 kilometers of tunnel for section 4.

Projects Certified with Ultra-Low-Carbon Concrete EXEGY\u00ae by Soletanche Bachy<\/h3><\/div>

As a reminder, as part of the Line B extension project, Bessac is producing all 2,850 tunnel lining segments using ultra-low-carbon concrete EXEGY\u00ae by Bessac, in collaboration with the materials departments of VINCI Construction and Soletanche Bachy. The result: a 40% reduction in CO\u2082 emissions compared to traditional concrete!
\nFor section 4 of Line C, part of the diaphragm walls for the shafts were also made with EXEGY\u00ae ultra-low-carbon concrete.<\/p>\n<\/div>
